Wednesdays

7pm to 10pm. 'Sport & Chill'. 16+ & College Students. Basketball, Football, Pool, Badminton, Wii, Chat.

Ashton Court, Long Ashton

Saturdays

10am to 12 noon, Mountain bike sessions. These sessions take place every Saturday morning at Ashton Court and are coached by fully qualified and insured instructors for 9 - 19 year olds. The sessions have been running for over 2 years now and they are extremely well attended and popular, with many riders still riding from the very first session. New riders are joining all the time and you will always be made to feel welcome by all riders and instructors. Bikes and helmets are available for those who do not have their own and if you have your own bike it will be checked over for you on your first session to make sure it is ready to ride. Uphill Victory Hall, Uphill

Fridays

Every Friday 10.30am - 11.30am. Fitness and Fun for Babies and Mum. A fun exercise class with no need for childcare! 30 minutes of gentle aerobics/dance with baby/toddler in pushchair, followed by 30 minutes of toning the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles with the children playing around us. First session free, then £4 per session for 7 week course.

Mon, Tues, Fri

Every Monday, Tuesday and Friday 9.30am - 10.30am. Pilates. A community class which focuses on strengthening the core muscles of the back, abdominals and pelvic floor. Improving flexibility and posture through calm focused movements. First class free, then £5 per session.

Thursdays

Winscombe Thursday Market, 8am - 12noon (Every Thursday), Community Centre, Sandford Road, Winscombe. A superb range of fresh fish, local and seasonal vegetables, free range eggs, local cheese, home made cakes, fudge, savouries, honey and preserves, Hobbs House Bread, Moorland Farm beef and many other interesting and varied stalls including charity cards, "Barefoot" books for children, and "See Saw" children's clothing, "Traidcraft" provisions and goods, home made craft items and seasonal plants. Refreshments available. Free admission.

Saturdays

Bleadon Village Market. Every third Saturday 9am - 12.30pm, Coronation Hall, Bleadon. Selling everything from local produce, to crafts, Fair Trade, antiques and collectables, together with a community cafe selling hot snacks and drinks.

Sundays

Car Boot and Market at Moor Park (next to the Helicopter museum), every Sunday from 8am to 2pm and includes fruit and veg, butchers, cakes and a multitude of other products.

North Somerset Athletic Club Open Training Event

Tuesdays

Every Tuesday during term time 6pm - 7pm, Worle School, WSM. Run by experienced England athletics qualified coaches, this event is aimed at 8-12 year olds and will be focused on fun athletics. So if you have always wanted to give athletics a try or think you are the next Usain Bolt then come along and be part of the largest and most successful junior athletics club in the south west. First session free and £2.50 a session thereafter.

8am start in Bristol, finish on Weston Beach Lawns. The West Country's premier challenge bike ride, the Great Weston Ride, caters for riders of all abilities, with something to offer experienced cyclists and novices alike. The Ride’s 56-mile city-to-coast route starts in Bristol and then takes riders through some stunning countryside and picturesque Somerset villages as it wends its way through the Mendips and across the Somerset Levels to its final destination on the seafront in Weston-super-Mare. It's a great challenge, a great day out, and, although it’s completely optional, for many it's also about using their efforts to fundraise for charity (over £30,000 was raised in total in 2011), and huge numbers of people from the Weston and North Somerset areas rose to the challenge in 2011.
